This will most likely seem insane, but sanity is overrated so bear with it ok?

it will also be TL/DR

i want to create monsters, actual real life monsters, the most insane, disturbing and bizzarre creatures possible, and i am making a plan that might give me great results.

1)create a cult, the reasons for this are many, gathering money, gathering an army to keep my project safe, and to act as a cover for the real project(the cult will seem to be a money grabing scheme, just like most cults out there)

2)gather like minded people that are willing to help on the project, these people will form the inner core of the cult(the outer core will be the workforce/soldiers that will NOT be aware of the true intentions of the cult, or at least not entirely)

3)build a stronghold, somewhere isolated, it will be a closed community, heavily fortified and guarded, with a large underground dungeon, where the experiments will take place and the creatures kept.

4)create monsters, this is easier to acomplish than you imagine, that is if you completly ignore any sort of law or moral/ethic code, genetic experiments, cybernetic enchancement, selective breeding, isolation, cross breeding between diferent species, multilation and behaviour training are some of the metods that will be used to create them( will be explained further later on)

5)release the creatures! i will most likely create some for military use and/or several other uses(sexual as well), but the main reason for doing all this was never to make profit, that i could have done with just the cult, the reason behind all this is simple, because i felt like it, i think the world would be much more interesting if i filled it with deadly abominations, and that is what i plan to do.

continuing...

genetic experiments and wide use of steam cell is the basis of my plan, using genes from several creatures and steam cells to allow the changes to take place will allow me to (at least in theory) turn live animals into pre-designed monsters, for example: i decide to create a frog-man, so i write down the characteristics i want, draw what i want it to look like, and start collecting genes from frogs and several other creatures, in an attempt to create a collection of genes that when added to human dna will allow create a creature with the characteristics i want but stable enough so it will survive, then i take a living human being and add the genes to his dna.

adding the genes alone will most likely create unstable mutations winch would manifest as some sort of cancer, however, by using steam cells, surgery and other medical treatments it is possible to transform the human into the creature, steam cells are able to reproduce any kind of cell on the human body, so in theory, if i inject genes that would make you have tentacles on your back, and i use controlled amounts of steam cells on your back, i can actually make tentacles grow on your back.

cybernetic enhancements, just like genetic modification and mutation, are possible with current technology, however, its pretty much illegal everywhere to use them because of the high risk of horrible, HORRIBLE consequences to the subjects health, since i dont actually care about that i will make wide use of it, things like ataching a chainsaw to a minotaur´s arm, or a machine gun to the back of a scorpion/bear hybrid, you get the idea...

the most important parts of my experiment is isolation and selective breeding, isolation from the outside world will allow me to completly control my creatures enviroment, this way i can prevent undesirable factors from affecting my creatures, controlling their enviroment i can use selective breeding to adapt the creatures to specific habitats, this way i can create desert-dwelling creatures withount using a real desert.

by using selective breeding alone i can create monsters, think im kidding? if selective breeding could turn a wolf into a chihuahua, why wouldnt it be able to turn a human into a hairy, vicious, muscular abomination with large and extremely sharp fangs?

multilation and behaviour training are not used to "create" the monsters, only to improve them, multilating them to make them more...monsterlike... and training them to act in expecific ways, this way i can create creatures that will, over several generations, act the way i want them to act, this will allow me to create vicious, ferocious beasts that will have the single-minded desire to destroy everything in their paths, or delicate, submissive, masochistc succubus that will submit to humans sexual desire, or a sadist, dominant succubus that will try to enslave humans and other creatures for their sexual desires.

as you can see, the possibilities are almost limitless, so tell me, what do you think? any suggestions and/or ideas will be great, including possible methods to create monsters, ideas for the cult and possible monster designs.

all ideas are welcome, so is every design, being way too weird or bizzarre are not flaws, they are bonuses!

>the reason behind all this is simple, because i felt like it,

You will not go far with following the principle of "Because you feel like it", because if you have to put work into the project, I guarantee you will not be "feeling like it" when the day comes to create these creatures (simple mutilation aside, it does require work). My suggestion: pick a different drive.
>> No. 290
Otherwise I find this very intriguing and interesting (being unethical aside). Good luck!

perhaps i didnt explain myself right...

reading about the principle doesnt make you feel the principle, i WANT to do it, thats why im going to do it, serial killers go incredible lengths to complete their projects and fullfill their obsessions, thats the same thing with me, i have always had an obsession with creating monsters, thats what made me start studying biology in the first place.

Interesting.
>> No. 295
Interesting idea. but I recommend using something with a shorter lifespan than humans. With humans it would take at least a lifetime to fine-tune something through selective breeding. If your base animal has a shorter lifespan, a generation will be only a few years, and selective breeding would be more viable.
>> No. 297
>>295
already considered that, i will use several diferent creatures, so it wont take too long for me to have some results, and as for humans taking a life-time to be finely tuned into my monsters...i already have a few ideas to solve that problem, will explain it later tonight.

the link above is about a bird that has an unusually long lifespan for its size, this is due to its ability to lengthen its telomeres with age, this is believed to increase lifespan by at least 20 % as it was proved in lab experiments, simple genetic therapy can increase my lifespan greatly, and since i will be using stem cells, genetic therapy/engineering, cloning and cybernetic enhancements to create my monsters, im pretty sure i can find a way to increase my lifespan by a few centuries, if not reach a level of imortality.

Things that you can't do. Add genes to a creature and expect the genes to thrive. Let alone live. A "frog-man" would not be made by injecting frog DNA into a man. The closest thing to a frog man, would be made by altering the DNA's base pairs.

In addition to that, all spine-having creatures have a base form they can not deviate from. A common ancestor, limiting any form.

Points 1, 2 and 3 are not so difficult to do

A cult? if you have enough social skills and social "intelligence" you can manipulate anyone, point 2, it's kinda related

A fortified complex ? with enough money and workers you can build a fortress and if you have a cult you could have both

But the monsters are the problem, how to create a monster ? Forget godzilla, a real terryfing monster is microscopic and airborne

During the seventies the soviets in the labs of Akademogorod tried genetic splice and recombination of several viral strains, their objetive was to combine a hemorraghic fever like Marburg with a highly contagious disease like smallpox

Rumors said they succeded, now a truly scary creature is something that melts your organs and make you bleed through all your orifices, not some kind of mutant deinonychus

yeah...but i want to make some monsters you can actually see and shit your pants while it tear your limbs off...

>>300
>huur durrh no one has done it before therefore its impossible

stfu, its that kind of limited thinking that made people believe that the earth was round even tough scientists kept telling otherwise.

nothing is impossible, at best highly unlikely, and if you had actually paid attention to my post you would see that i did NOT say that to make a frog man i would just have to add frog dna to human dna, thats just stupid, i said that i would use dna from frogs AND other creatures to make a stable being that fits my idea as close as possible.

anyway...go back to trolling 4chan´s /x/.

Lets everybody just calm down.
Now, since these monsters are going to take awhile to develop, I can assume I'll be safe... right?

Good luck though.

Ahh, great project indeed. Genetic Engeneering would be the best shot you'd have aside from Ph.D in Biology. And to all the people who think this cannot be accomplished trough those means, i recommend you to read about genetic experiments on sheep to produce spider silk. That's something. Now, there we have something good going. Congratulations Doomage, this is a beautiful idea. I'd love to see an elephant with Siberian Tiger characteristics, it would be rather amusing.

Zombies/rage infected = monsters = panic on a global scale. Fulfill a childhood dream of mine and go for zombies as a starter. At least then people will be too preoccupied with them to notice you're making other monsters AND it wont be as difficult to acquire human subjects if you weren't already considering using your followers.

are you insane? thats the final weapon, the virus must be unleashed when the monsters are ready, this way i will have a monster army to ensure i will take over whats left of the planet!

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but: are you guys roleplaying? If so, please delete this post as its out of character. I kinda hope you are roleplaying. The alternative, that you are ~seriously~ hoping to create a cult, then a stronghold, then creatures, all of it basically for the lulz, when its been proven that /x/philes aren't capable to even write a gooddamn choose-your-own-adventure story (refer to >>348 ) would be sad.

Mods, feel free to delete this post if it spoils the thread.

Can we compromise? Maybe unleash them when you're half way or a 3rd of the way done making your army that way me and a few others from across the interwebs can have fun killing zombies before the real shitstorm happens?

First of all, OP is sixteen. Trust me, I'm a psychic.
>>325
You mean with goats? It isn't quite as sensational as you're making it out to be. They gave some goats the ability to produce the protein for spider silk in their milk, and then used a special refining process to get actual silk from it. It's a lot smaller-scale than what OP is talking about.

OP, you can't just stick genes in someone and expect them to magically change. The changes will appear in their children. As such, while it is theoretically possible to induce the changes you're talking about, it would take a very long time. The child can't be too significantly different from its parents, or else it wouldn't survive childbirth. You'd have to gradually induce the changes you want. This means, to prevent inbreeding, you'd have to have a very large breeding population of people/whatever animal you're basing the monsters off (so that you could put genes in the people/animals, have them breed, induce changes in their slightly-mutant babies, have the slightly-mutant babies breed with other slightly-mutant babies and have slightly-more-mutated-mutant babies, etc.) Now, exactly how large this massive starting population would have to be depends on how large the changes you're planning to induce would be, but suffice to say it would be pretty massive, and, as I said before, it would take a very, very long time. You mentioned telomere extension. It hasn't been proven to work in humans, and, even if it does, it would almost certainly radically increase vulnerability to cancer.

And, finally, do you really want to do this? When you could use this technology to help the world in so many ways, is this really what you want to do with it? Imagine the horrible suffering they would cause. Imagine a mother and child, ragged and desperate, crossing the desert. They have been driven out of their homeland, the anarchic wilderness once called Tennessee. The woman's husband is dead. The child's friends are dead - one of them, she watched die. They have just one hope left - escape to one of the offshore colonies, where the majority of the monsters cannot reach. Then a tiger-elephant eats them. Is that what you want? That's a big responsibility for a sixteen-year old.

Now, I'm not trying to discourage you, OP. I think it's very important for people your age to follow their dreams. I just want you to understand exactly what this entails.

I think when you get older and more mature you will change your mind about this.

Something else about your plan: where are you going to get all the people necessary? From the cult? You're going to need to have a very large cult if this is the case. And if you draw too much of the government's attention, by, say, moving several hundred people into a heavily protected fortress and smuggling in hundreds of exotic animals, that's pretty much the end for you.

I think the first thing to do would be to study life-extension.. If we manage to make ourselves near-immortal, we'd then have enough time to work on the monsters and really perfect them
>> No. 420
>>419
no, i already tought of that, our best chance for a sucessfull life extension is to test it on our creatures, using them with no regards for their health will allow us to develop our science techiniques incredibly fast, this way we will be able to suscesfully improve our bodies, granting us longer lifes and inhuman abilities.
>> No. 421
>>420
Yeah of course that's what I thought as well, using our subjects as guinea-pigs and then applying our new tech to ourselves. I just meant that maybe we should concentrate on achieving immortality / extended lifespan as soon as possible, and then we're free to work on the monsters without having to worry about dying before the job is done.
>> No. 422
>>421
we do need to focus on increasing our life spans, but we cant do only that, we should focus on life extension and work on the monsters in the meantime, focusing our research in the techiniques that can be used for both purposes, like genetic engineering and steam cell research, and of course bio-mechanic improovements.
>> No. 435
Aight I had a cool idea to get around the problem that when dealing with humans it would take a long time to see any results. It would be a simple enough matter to extract an egg from a newborn girl for the purposes of in vitro fertilization. We would also force early puberty in males so they start producing sperm (could be achieved by age nine or earlier). Then we would fertilize the egg in vitro and plant it on a surrogate-mother. We would need to start "producing" boys about 10 years in advance since they need to hit puberty, but once we got it going each generation would take only 9 months. That should speed things up a little
>> No. 439
>>435
yeah...but we wouldnt really see any results of any generation until it reachs puberty, thats why we will need to use stem cells to speed up the aging process.
